The Little Swallow Gin
Project Description
The concept for this alcohol label identity was derived from aspects of my own personal identity. The name the ‘Little Swallow’ references the town I grew up in, the lovely San Juan Capistrano. The bird the barn swallow is an iconic symbol of the city as the bird seasonally builds its nest there in spring. While my hometown accounts for the ‘Swallow’ in the name, the ‘Little’ comes from my placement in my family. Being the youngest of four siblings, I've always felt that that played an integral role in my personality, hence why I felt it was an important element to incorporate. In the label design, I sought to merge the historical qualities of my hometown with a youthful spirit that would attract the 21-30 age group.
