For the Love of Type
Project Description
For the Love of Type is a collaborative book made with my classmates in the course Typography II. Each student analyzed a typeface of their choosing and created spreads for their version of a cover, introduction and table of contents for the collaborative book. I studied the typeface Eckmanpsych, created by James Edmondson. Within these study spreads I referenced a punk grunge style, synonymous with the aesthetic of Edmondson’s type foundry site. In contrast I used a clean geometric look for the cover, table of contents & introduction, to provide a break from some of the more heavily decorative spreads of my classmates and I.
